"Remembering 26/11: A Tale of Resilience and Unity in the Face of Adversity"

 



Ten terrorists from Pakistan arrived by ship on November 26, 2008, and they immediately launched a vicious attack that claimed the lives of 166 people, including 18 security officers. The assailants inflicted a great deal of damage and suffered losses in the billions of rupees.

 

Hemant Karkare, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan of the NSG, Additional Police Commissioner of Mumbai Ashok Kamte, and Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar were among the leaders of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) who were killed in the terror attacks.

 

Starting on November 26, 2008, and lasting until November 29, were the attacks. Among the places attacked during the horrific acts of terrorism were Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Oberoi Trident, Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, and Nariman House.

 

Nine terrorists were eliminated by security personnel after the attacks.

The only terrorist to be arrested alive was Ajmal Kasab. On November 21, 2012, a full four years later, he received the death penalty.
